Charlotte has many public spaces and one of the things you will notice in many of these public spaces is art work. The city has made effort to include art into our daily lives. The Arts & Science Council is a non-profit that locates public space, searches for artists and gives grants to further arts within our city. Some works such as Metalmorphosis, which moves (pictured above), combines science and art.
There are many locations where you can see many pieces within Charlotte. Center City has over 80 pieces. NoDa, the corridor along North Davidson Street, is called the Arts District and is a haven of different types of art. As well, every stop on the Lynx Light Rail has public art. There are other locations on this list of public art work in Charlotte. Below is a video, created by the Charlotte Video Project, that includes an art piece that will be located at the airport.
Update: The Arts & Science Council has a grant opportunity for up to $2,000 for artists in any discipline until Sept 20th.
