Charlotte Clean and Green Educates on Sustainable Practices

Posted on May 24, 2012 by James Stewart Jr

Charlotte Clean and Green Festival is a yearly festival that supports sustainable, clean, and environmental friendly practices.  This year it was held at the newest section of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.  This festival is interesting because it not only has green businesses and and organizations that are in the Charlotte area; but it also held classes that taught attendees how to start on their own.   The classes ranged from ways to start your own urban garden to a few inexpensive steps individuals could take to be green.

The event was aimed at adult education, but also had green themed activities for children.  What I found interesting were how close in Charlotte many of the exhibitors were located.  Cloister Honey has be hives on top of Johnson and Wales uptown so you could possibly swatting at one of their “employees” if you worked in that part of uptown.

They have a large number of their exhibitors on their website if you missed it and want to know about the many organizations that are sustainable and green in Charlotte.  As always if I visit an event then I have photos.
